Crosby, Malkin to miss start of training camp

PITTSBURGH — Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin will be held out of the start of training camp, Pittsburgh Penguins Executive Vice President and General Manager Jim Rutherford said Thursday.

The Penguins officially reported for training camp on Thursday with players undergoing physicals and attending meetings.

On Friday, the team will hit the ice for the first time.

The Penguins' training camp practice at Consol Energy Center on Saturday will be open to the public free of charge.
