UNIONTOWN, Pa. — A man who was recently released from prison is now facing charges of robbery and assault.
According to police, Vincent Wallace, 55, was released from prison Monday on charges of making terroristic threats. Police said he is now accused of attacking a Uniontown woman and stealing her cellphone early Friday morning.
Authorities said Wallace and Karen Boyd were in a car just before 3 a.m. Friday when Wallace began punching Boyd, 43, in the face and head.
Police said Boyd called 911 when Wallace left the car, but he returned and demanded money. He took her cellphone and car keys before fleeing the scene, police said.
Authorities said officers found Wallace nearby on the 10th floor of a high-rise called Marshall Manor on East Main Street.
At this time, police have not said why Wallace and Boyd were in the car together to begin with.
Wallace was charged with two counts of robbery, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
