Woman dead after 5-vehicle crash in Richland Township

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman is dead following a crash involving a dump truck in Richland Township, police confirm to Channel 11.

Emergency crews were called to Route 8 near the First National Bank around 1 p.m. Friday.

Five vehicles were involved in the crash, and one driver was killed. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the driver as Cinnamon Gilch, 53, of Gibsonia.

One of the drivers is pregnant and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The other three drivers involved were not hurt.

North Hampton Volunteer Fire Department said Route 8 was shut down in both directions between Ewalt Road and Walmart Drive.

As of 7:30 p.m. Friday, all lanes of Route 8 have reopened.
