The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is assessing the spill, which is said to have been small.
ATI said no hazardous waste was discharged from the plant. Crews were out investigating the river Wednesday night, and continued the investigation Thursday.
The spill was reported after it happened.
Containment booms were placed in the river to control the spill. A sheen was seen on the water Wednesday, but most of it has since dissipated and ATI said there was nothing to clean up Thursday.
ATI will have to submit an incident report to the DEP explaining what happened and how they responded.
Experts said the spill does not seem to have impacted any aquatic life in the river.
