AMBRIDGE, Pa. — Residents of a Beaver County apartment complex are on edge after a shooting at the complex early Tuesday morning that sent bullets through a home and into several parked vehicles.
Authorities returned to the Economy Village Apartments on Laurel Street in Ambridge Tuesday afternoon to continue their investigation in the daylight. They found parts of an apartment, including a window frame, shot more than once.
Ambridge Police Chief Jim Mann said officers found 18 shell casings.
"The girl, fortunately that lived in 37, moved out yesterday, and she had several small children,” said Mann.
While the bullets did not hit anyone, two cars and a truck outside were struck.
The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. and wore neighbors up.
"I just heard some commotion, and I got up and looked out of the window. I saw the cops there and everything," said one resident who didn’t want to be identified.
The owner of the truck that was struck with gunfire said Laurel Street is normally quiet.
Police said they’re looking for two shooters who are in some kind of ongoing fight.
"We don't think this is the end of it. We're hoping innocent people and police don't get caught up in the dispute," said Mann.
Ambridge police said they checked with area hospitals and found no gunshot victims.
