SPRINGDALE, Pa. — Two employees were injured when a piece of equipment malfunctioned at PPG Industries in Springdale.
Emergency crews responded to a reported explosion at the plant in the 100 block of Colfax Street at around 12:50 p.m.
A spokesperson for PPG said that the two employees were being evaluated for minor injuries and the plant was evacuated as a precaution.
Authorities were on site checking the equipment. It’s unknown right now exactly what type of equipment malfunctioned.
