PITTSBURGH — The West End Bridge was closed in both directions after a fatal motorcycle crash.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, first responders arrived on scene at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Responders found the motorcyclist down on the street, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
On Monday, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died as Robert Timothy Agurs III, 28, of Pittsburgh.
We spoke to a Channel 11 viewer, Brodie Bard, who saw the destruction after the crash.
“It was scary, I did not expect that. I never thought I would see something like that,” Bard said.
Two other vehicles are said to be involved in the collision.
No other injuries have been reported.
There is no word on the identity of the motorcyclist.
The Collision Investigation Unit is investigating to determine the cause.
