MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa. — A father and son are facing charges after they allegedly fired shots while chasing a man in Mount Pleasant.
Paul Caletri Jr., 70, and Paul Caletri III, 30, are charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving.
The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office said the victim said the Caletris approached him at his house on Bridgeport Street. Caletri III appeared to be holding a shotgun with the barrel pointed at the driver’s head. He said he was going to shoot the victim, who ran from the home to his truck.
The Caletris allegedly followed the victim in each of their own vehicles, the DA’s office said. Police said they chased him through multiple streets.
The victim also said Caletri was hanging out of the window with a gun in his hand and heard several shots fired during the pursuit, according to the DA’s office.
The victim said as the chase ensued, both Caletris intentionally rammed his truck and blocked in his door near Coppula Drive.
The victim climbed out of his truck through a window, ran into a gas station nearby and asked the clerk to call 911 because he was being shot at, the DA’s office said.
State troopers tracked down Caletri III who allegedly admitted to shooting at the victim’s vehicle twice with a shotgun.
No one was injured as a result of the gunfire.
Caletri III was remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison, while Caletri, Jr. was released.
