Reports of 2 attempted bank robberies in North Hills determined to be “misunderstanding”

NORTH HILLS, Pa. — What started as a report of 2 attempted bank robberies in the North Hills Thursday morning ended up being a “misunderstanding,” according to police.

Hampton Township Police responded to a call for a reported attempted bank robbery at First National Bank along Route 8 around 11 a.m.

Northern Regional Police were called to the First National Bank on Walmart Drive in Richland Township a short time after for a reported attempted robbery there.

The FBI was called to assist in the investigation, but the Northern Regional police chief told Channel 11′s Mike Holden that the both incidents appeared to be a “misunderstanding.”
