Filming in Elizabeth to include simulated explosives, pyrotechnics

Elizabeth residents and those in the area may notice some unusual activity Thursday night into Friday morning.

Filming on the Monongahela River and at the Elizabeth Boat Club on South Water Street will include pyrotechnics, simulated gunfire and explosives launched from barges, visible fire gags and helicopter use, according to a release from Pittsburgh Film Office.

Filming, which is scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday, is for a Paramount Plus series.

There will be traffic control on the Regis R. Malady Bridge, known as the Elizabeth Bridge on Route 51, while pyrotechnics are being used.

The U.S. Coast Guard, county fire and health, and Elizabeth fire and police are informed of plans and will be in attendance as necessary, according to the release.

Channel 11 reached out to the film office for details on the project.
