Tanker trucks circled the intersection of Three Degree Road and Beacon Road Monday morning after fire tore through a log cabin house.
Six people were inside when the fire broke out. Police said they were all able to get out safely. Pictures taken by Penn Township police show smoke billowing from the house shortly after 5:15 a.m.
Crews battled the flames for hours and wouldn’t allow anyone near the house.

“It’s more safety because the fire trucks have the roads pretty congested down there, and it has also turned into ice because of the temperatures this morning,” said Corporal Jack D. Ripper with the Penn Township Police Department.
Crews were also dealing with a lack of water in the area and having to run a hose for more than a half-mile to get that water to the house, Ripper said“On this street, there’s no municipal water, but right at the end of this street, they are using hydrants to use the trucks…but yes, mutual aid was called to supply water to the scene,” Ripper said.
Ripper said the family who lives in the house is staying with relatives.
The State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
