ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. — A firefighter was killed in a fatal dirt bike accident in Armstrong County.
According to a release from the Armstrong County Coroner’s office, 26-year-old Brandon Weaver of Templeton was fatally injured while riding a dirt bike Friday night.
Weaver was riding a 2019 YZ 250 motorcycle on State Route 1030. He lost control of the bike and left the road before hitting a tree.
He was pronounced deceased in the hospital. The coroner’s office said Weaver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
According to a post from the Pine Township-Templeton Volunteer Fire Department, Weaver was a firefighter for their department.
The department offered their condolences to Weaver’s family in a Facebook post:
“Our sincere heartfelt condolences go out to the Weaver and Blaniar families in this very hard time. Please keep all of them, and the rest of our firefighters in your thoughts and prayers in this most difficult time. Rest in Peace Brandon, we can take it from here.”
