WHITEHALL, Pa. — A house sustained heavy damage after it caught on fire in Whitehall.
Allegheny County dispatchers say emergency crews were called to the 300 block of Bauman Avenue at around 2:11 a.m. on Sunday.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered the bulk of the fire at the rear of the house.
Everyone who was inside the house was able to make it out safely.
Firefighters stretched a line through the front door of the house to help put out the flames.
Members of seven fire departments responded to the scene. They stayed at the house for four hours.
A cat was rescued from the inside and no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
