CECIL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — An elderly woman was killed in a house fire Tuesday morning in Washington County, a Cecil Township fire chief at the scene told Channel 11.
The Washington County Coroner identified the woman who died as Rose Churray, 81.
The 911 call for the fire at a home on Swihart Road in Cecil Township came in at 5:25 a.m.
The chief said when crews arrived, two homes were on fire -- one in the front and one in the back. The home in the back was the one that caught fire first, then spread to the home in the front.
Churray, who was living in the home in the back, was found dead after the fire was put out, the chief told Channel 11.
No one in the front home was injured.
UPDATE: sadly, we just found out that an elderly woman died in this fire. She was found inside a back house on the property, @JillianWPXI just confirmed. Firefighters say the fire then spread to the front house. https://t.co/FTz2F8BY23
