MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Former Pittsburgh Steeler Jerome Bettis took a school bus around the area to spread holiday cheer.
Jerome Bettis’ Bus Stops Here Foundation held its annual toy giveaway.
He travels on a school bus to deliver toy donations to families. Volunteers filled the bus with toys at the foundation’s office on Clever Road in McKees Rocks.
During his stop at Twin Rivers Elementary School in McKeesport Bettis handed out gifts and visited with 85 families.
He said the event the event is rewarding.
“Having the families up and giving the kids their gifts, personally, it’s the [best] time for me [out] of any event I do,” Bettis said.
He delivered gifts to 300 families at the Jasmine Nyree Campus School in Pittsburgh on his second stop.
The Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation also helped bring the event to life.
