Former teacher accused of sexually assaulting teenage student

INDIANA — A former Indiana County teacher has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a former student.

Patrick J. McKee, 60, was charged Thursday, after detectives say he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old while employed for the Indiana Area School District.

According to police, McKee met the victim at a youth sports function. Over the course of several months, McKee began to groom the child and invited them back to his home. That’s when the victim says McKee would sexually assault them.

The victim is now an adult.

The initial complaint was filed with the Indiana Area School District, who alerted police.

Police are asking the community’s assistance in identifying further incidents of child abuse and/or sexual assault. Victims and witnesses are urged to call the Indiana Borough Police Department or the Indiana County District Attorney’s Office with any information regarding these crimes.
