NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — This week, the public can pay their respects to fallen Brackenridge police chief Justin McIntire, who was shot and killed in the line of duty last Monday.

Ross Walker Funeral Home, located at 217 Freeport Road in New Kensington, confirmed to Channel 11 that they will be holding McIntire’s public visitation and funeral.

The first visitation was held Monday.
“There were a lot of police officers there, all the lights were blue. It was very somber, very emotional,” said Keith Piecka.
Visitation will continue on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 2 to 8 p.m. Anyone attending the visitation is asked to park at Valley High School, where a free shuttle will transport people to the viewing.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11 at noon at Mt. Saint Peters Church in New Kensington. That will be followed by a procession down Freeport Road, where people are encouraged to line the road to watch and pay their respects.
The visitation and the funeral service are open to the public.
Channel 11 news partner the Tribune-Review reports police departments from across western Pennsylvania are patrolling Brackenridge as the borough’s own officers are remaining with McIntire’s body.
