WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — The Penn Township — Harrison City community is rallying around a local family after a horrible medical call over the weekend left a 6-year-old boy in the hospital.

It happened on Richmond Drive in Penn Township on Saturday night.
Liam has already had two surgeries and is expecting more in the days and weeks ahead.
Not only does Liam have this to overcome but he also has autism and is mostly nonverbal, but his family said if anybody knows Liam, they know how resilient he is and he will learn to navigate this new life ahead.
His dad is a firefighter and lieutenant with Harrison City Fire Department and had any parent’s worst nightmare — calling 911 for his own child.
The fire department said it is grateful for the community caring for one of its own.
Liam’s teacher, Miss Tanya, said her heart goes out to Liam and his family and said,
“This accident is no doubt another challenge, on top of the many other challenges that Liam has had to face in this life. Still, we are full of hope. I am confident that with the love and support of his family, friends, school, and community, Liam will persevere and continue to bring joy and life to all of those who know and love him.”
There is a GoFundMe and a meal train set up for Liam and his family.
