PITTSBURGH — New York-based weekly publication Newsweek has published its fifth-annual “Most Responsible Companies in America” list, and once again, Pittsburgh-based companies have made the cut.
The “America’s Most Responsible Companies 2024″ list includes 600 public companies — an increase from the 500 that were included last year. However, Newsweek notes that the company in the 600th spot this year has a higher overall score than the company in spot No. 500 last year.
Newsweek partners with data firm Statista to compile the list, and each company is assigned an overall weighted score that is based on environmental, social and corporate governance factors gathered from KPI data and a reputation survey of each company, with 17,000 U.S. residents being included in the survey.
