A long-term closure of the Route 28 southbound ramp to the Highland Park Bridge begins this morning.
The closure will last through mid-September for reconstruction and drainage improvements as part of a $47 million improvement project along Route 28.

The suggested detour is to take Exit 8, Fox Chapel Road, prior to the Highland Park Bridge, turn right onto Fox Chapel Road, then right onto Freeport Road.
The northbound bridge ramp to Freeport Road will also be closed through mid-September.
The suggested detour is to go past that ramp and take the next ramp to Sharpsburg. At the stop sign, turn left onto Freeport Road northbound.
