Home healthcare worker accused of stealing credit cards from patients, spending over $17K

FOREST HILLS, Pa. — A home healthcare worker is facing almost two dozen charges after police say she stole credit cards and spent more than $17,500.

According to a criminal complaint, 34-year-old Crystal Flowers was hired through the company Confiable Home Health Care to care for an elderly couple in Forest Hills.

They say between September 6 and October 7 of this year, she stole 10 credit cards to rack up about 200 purchases.

Channel 11 reached out to Confiable. A manager spoke to us over the phone and said there would be no statement or comment at this time.

According to police, they confronted Flowers with a photo taken at the South Side Flats Giant Eagle. She admitted she was in the picture, and police say it matched a transaction using one of those stolen cards.

Channel 11 attempted to reach out to Flowers. No one answered the door at the address listed on court paperwork.

“I hope that person is prosecuted and sent to jail,” a Forest Hills woman told us.

“I think lawyers are definitely going to be involved somewhere. We have to change the way things are done to make sure this never happens again,” Barry Tapper of Forest Hills said.

Flowers’ charges include fraud and identity theft.

According to court records, she is already awaiting trial on an assault charge. It stems from an incident that happened last March.

The trial is scheduled for January.
