PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police will hold a briefing at 11 a.m. Monday after three people were killed and one was injured in a shooting on the North Side over the weekend.

Allegheny County dispatchers said police and medics were called to the 300 block of Cedar Avenue at around 10:08 p.m. Saturday.
According to Pittsburgh police, a female was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another female and a male were taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died from their injuries.
The women who were killed have been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Jacquelyn C. Mehalic, 33, and Betty J Averytt, 59.
The man who died in the hospital has been identified as 20-year-old John Hornezes.
Police said another male victim took himself to a hospital and is in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police said no one is in custody at this point in the investigation.

The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
