PITTSBURGH — Severe thunderstorms moved through our area Saturday afternoon, leaving behind damaging and knocking power out to tens of thousands of people.

UPDATE 10:30 p.m.:
Duquesne Light Company said that 10,000 customers in Allegheny and Beaver counties were without service. Crews are working at the moment and the company expects that power will be completely restored by noon on Monday.

Duquesne Light is reporting that 27,004 customers are experiencing power outages.

Storms come this afternoon and may be strong at times. Sunday’s storms come late in the day and may be severe, including damaging wind gusts.
