PITTSBURGH — The High Occupancy Vehicles (HOV) lanes on I-279/I-579 will close early Thursday as the City of Pittsburgh prepares for incoming inclement weather.
PennDOT said the HOV lanes will close at around 7 p.m. They will not reopen for Friday morning’s rush hour and are expected to be closed throughout the day.
The HOV lanes will reopen Saturday in the outbound direction to accommodate traffic leaving the Steelers game, PennDOT said. Additional information will be provided in advance of the reopening.
