A bank with a big presence in Pittsburgh is slashing 34 branches in early 2024.
But Huntington Bancshares is sparing southwestern Pennsylvania, a spokesperson confirmed on Monday.
Huntington (NASDAQ:HBAN), based in Columbus, Ohio, is Pittsburgh’s seventh-largest bank by deposit market share at 2.2%. It operates 43 branches in the 10-county metro or 1,051 across its footprint, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. as of June 30, 2023. The local count was the same as in 2022.
The cuts were announced Oct. 20 along with Huntington’s third-quarter earnings.
