Indiana County man accused of violating Megan’s Law sentenced to at least 5 years in prison

MARION CENTER, Pa. — A man who was previously convicted of indecent assault is facing prison time after police said he violated Megan’s Law.

Robert Adams, 61, of Marion Center, Indiana County, was required by law to provide accurate information regarding his address, employment and vehicles being used after his previous conviction.

Pennsylvania State Police said he was providing false information about where he was living.

He was tried in Oct. 2023. A jury took less than an hour to deliver a guilty verdict.

On Wednesday, District Attorney Robert Manzi announced Adams was sentenced to serve no less than five years in prison and no more than ten years in a state correctional institution.

“Our attorneys take a great deal of time and effort to ensure that convictions are supported by proper, admissible evidence. Our courts take the decisions they have to make seriously and are supported by law and facts” said Manzi. “I am pleased that this conviction of a Megan’s Law Offender remains fully intact and Mr. Adams remains incarcerated where he belongs. I hope the message is clear that we hope Defendant’s comply with Megan’s Law fully but, if they don’t, we will prosecute the violations as aggressive as the facts and law allow.”

Adams’ alleged there was a lack of evidence in the trial in his appeal but the Superior Court of Pennsylvania denied it.
