Inmate escapes from Allegheny County correctional facility

PITTSBURGH — State police are searching for a man who they said escaped a downtown Pittsburgh corrections facility.

Investigators said Kenneth Gray signed out of the Renewal Community Corrections center on Grant Street on June 23 to receive treatment at UPMC.

Police said Gray never showed up to the UPMC facility and has been declared an escapee.

Gray is currently serving time for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury and has an extensive criminal history.

Gray is a 25-year-old black man, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.
