A Channel 11 crew at the scene said at least two K-9 officers are on the property sweeping the campus interior and exterior.

In a letter sent to families, the school district said an earlier phone threat brought the bomb-sniffing dogs to the high school and middle school campus. The call came from what sounded like a man, who anonymously claimed a bomb would go off in the high school parking lot in five minutes.

The K-9 officers swept each school and cleared the scene.

At around 11:24 a.m., the anonymous caller again contacted the school district and threatened an imminent school shooting, the letter said. Both the middle and high school were immediately placed on lockdown.

Northern Regional police said the threat were non-credible and are believed to be a case of swatting.

The district advised in the letter that the middle school and high school are closed and that the public should not report to either building or the secondary campus. Students are not being permitted to leave the campus until the situation is cleared.

The FBI and Northern Regional police are investigating.
