COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby took sole possession of first place on one of the NHL’s leaderboards during Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Crosby won his 15,183rd career face-off, passing Boston Bruins star Patrice Bergeron for the most face-off wins in NHL history.
The league began tracking face-off wins in the 1997-1998 season.
Crosby also currently holds the record for face-offs taken with 28,804.
