PITTSBURGH — Two males were found shot in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood Saturday night.
Allegheny County dispatchers said police and medics were called to the area of Color Park on South 4th Street at around 9 p.m.
According to Pittsburgh police, a juvenile male was found with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and a graze wound to the face.
A second male victim was found in the area of South 9th Street and East Carson Street with wounds to the torso.
Both victims were taken to area hospitals in critical condition.
Pittsburgh police said two firearms were recovered from the scene.
The violence in South Side proves concerning for residents in the area.
“You know, it’s not a good feeling when it’s happening less than 100 feet from where you live,” said Ja’Nia McPhatter, who lives in South Side.
Others who visit the area frequently say they are not intimidated by the area but recognize there are situations where danger pops up, particularly after dark.
“As far as going to work, I don’t feel afraid and I’m not scared of this area here,” said Danielle Luesetsch, who works in the city. “The South Side and the whole at night is kind of scary.”
The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at both scenes.
Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are investigating.
The investigation is ongoing.
