SOUTH PARK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A SWAT situation in a South Park Township neighborhood ended around 6 p.m. Thursday, after three hours.
Allegheny County 911 confirmed with 11 News that police activity began at 2:17 p.m. in the 6900 block of Hilldale Drive.
11 News was on scene as around two dozen SWAT members packed up after the suspect surrendered peacefully to police.
Just before 6 p.m., there was a startling loud bang near the area.
The SWAT standoff took place near a school bus stop, right around the time of dismissal. The chief of South Park Township Police told Channel 11 that officers personally took all of the students who live on the street to their homes after school.
