PITTSBURGH — Two juvenile males were shot in Homewood North early Monday.

Pittsburgh police were called to Nolan Court around 12:31 a.m., according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The victims were taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital and are in stable condition.

Nolan Court was taped off, with police at the crime scene for hours, and neighbors said they’ve had enough.

“I was asleep, hearing these gunshots…I didn’t even really want to come outside because I really didn’t want to know,” said neighbor Connie Street.

But Street soon learned what happened in her neighborhood.

Detectives with the Violent Crime Unit responded to the scene, enlisting the help of a K-9 in their investigation.

“I’m so tired of all of these guns and people who don’t know how to use them having them. There’s got to be some kind of way to get these guns off the streets,” Street said. “Too many lives are being wasted…for nothing. They’re not getting to grow up and be adults, have their own families.”

Street said she was happy to see increased patrols in the daylight hours after the shooting.

“They need to be up here. They really do. Maybe it’ll make a difference,” Street said.

Police have not said if anyone has been arrested.
