1 teen dead, another injured after double shooting at New Kensington apartment building

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — A teenager is dead and another was injured in a double shooting at an apartment building in New Kensington.

According to Westmoreland County 911, the shootings happened at Valley Royal Court off of Fourth Avenue at around 12:01 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, Divine Warner, 16, from Arnold, and Dylan Walmsley, 19, from South Greensburg, were both shot in an exchange of gunfire.

Warner died at a nearby hospital, officials said.

Walmsley was shot in the abdomen and is expected to survive.

Multiple evidence markers were placed near a playground that sits outside of the apartment building.

Authorities said the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
