CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Local and state leaders came together to cut the ribbon on the latest phase of a multi-million road project in Cranberry Township.
Freedom Road was reopened in Cranberry Township on Saturday. The road was expanded from Commonwealth Drive to Haine School Road.
The expansion was part of a broader project to work along the Freedom Road corridor. $62 million has been put towards the project and connect Freedom Road and Route 228 within the next few years. The stretch of road connects parts of Beaver and Butler counties.
“It’s good economic development, helps supplies jobs, allows people to get home sooner and enjoy their life in our township,” said chairman Mike Manipile.
The step for workers is to connect Freedom Road from Haine Road to Powell Road.
Butler County received the grant for the project in 2020 and construction began in 2021. Final touches are expected to be completed this year.
