ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — One person was shot and another was injured along McKnight Road on Thursday.
Police investigated multiple scenes, including at the Exxon, Network Access and the Exchange along McKnight.
Ross Township Det. Sgt. Brian Kohlhepp said that shots were fired along the busy road near the intersection of Nelson Run Road. Police said their investigation further determined that there was only one shooter.
Kohlhepp said that one vehicle that was hit by bullets pulled into the Network Access parking lot. Another vehicle that was hit made its way all the way down to the Exchange. A person in that vehicle was shot and taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Kohlhepp said they do not have any indication that this incident was a random act of violence.
This happened after a postal worker was shot at in the city’s Perry North neighborhood. Ross Township police told Channel 11 they were investigating if the two incidents were related.

The northbound lanes of McKnight Road were shut down at Nelson Run Road, but have since reopened. North Hills School District said that Ross Elementary bus No. 359 will be delayed in dropping off some students because of the closure.
