ZELIENOPLE, Pa. — Authorities are investigating after a man died Wednesday after an accident while tree-trimming.

Butler County 911 emergency dispatchers told Channel 11 News that a 54-year-old man was in a bucket truck trimming branches at a cemetery when the accident happened.

According to dispatchers, the man was unconscious when medics arrived on South Oliver Avenue in Zelienople just after 11:30 a.m. His name has not been released.

Dispatchers said no one is sure exactly what happened.

“The bucket truck came down. It snapped and the worker was injured. We’ve called OSHA,” said Zelienople police Officer Sean Adomaitis.

The victim was part of a four-man crew from American Tree Service out of Wexford, officials said.

His teammates told Channel 11’s Gordon Loesch that he’s been with the company for a long time. They described him as a good man and a hard worker.

The incident remains under investigation.
