SOUTHWEST GREENSBURG, Pa. — A man is accused of attacking police and chasing a worker at the Knights Inn in Southwest Greensburg on Tuesday.
According to a release shared by Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli, a motel worker called the police and said, Curtis Veasley, 45, chased her. Police said he was screaming at her and saying that he was God.
When officers arrived they tried to remove Veasley from his room. Inside, they heard yelling and slamming.
Once police got into the room, they tried to calm Veasley down but he reportedly tried attacking them.
Police said he told officers he would rip their arm off if they did not let go of him. He proceeded to grab one officer’s hands and wrap his arms around a post, officials said.
Police used pepper spray to try and control Veasley.
After the arrest was made, both officers had to be taken to a hospital for complications from the pepper spray. One officer was also kicked by Veasley.
Veasley is being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on a $75,000 bail.
