Man arrested after barricade situation in Arlington Heights

PITTSBURGH — A man was arrested after a barricade situation in Arlington Heights.

Pittsburgh police said they received a tip that a man with active warrants was in the area. He was found just before 10 a.m. but he was non-compliant and had a large knife on him.

Police tried to use a taser but it was not effective.

The man barricaded himself inside of a house. SWAT arrived on scene and he ultimately surrendered at around 11 a.m.

The man was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance before he was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
