According to Allegheny County police, the shooting happened in the 1100 block of Ravine Street at around 1:49 a.m.
Police said responding officers found evidence of a shooting at the location and were then notified that multiple people were driven to area hospitals by private means after being shot there.
A man was pronounced dead, another man is in critical condition and another man and a woman are in stable condition.
The location of the shooting, J’s Juke Joint, posted the following on the business’s Facebook page.
Our hearts go out to the people who were harmed from tonight’s terrifying incident. In respect to the life that was lost and the other lives who were jeopardized, J’s will be closed for the weekend. Drive by shootings are of the worst of crimes committed against humanity. We stand against any acts of violence towards the community and unwarranted individuals who simply come out to enjoy themselves. You are all in my prayers and my heart. To those who survived this horrific crime against us, We will rise up from this. Please take the time you need to heal and let God do his work. I love you all.
Marty Lischner, who lives in Munhall, said he heard the shots when they were fired.
“I was actually getting ready for bed and we heard extremely loud gunfire. I knew it was gunfire. I just came outside, as soon as the gunfire started fading, I came outside to see what was going on and sure enough, it was bad, I can tell you, it was bad,” said Lischner.
Lischner considers the bar a problem to the neighborhood.
“This bar from day one has been a complete nuisance. Parked in front of my driveway. Parked in front of the neighbor’s driveway. Throwing garbage everywhere. Loud, they stay up until 2, 3,4, 5 o’clock in the morning,” said Lischner.
Munhall Mayor Rob Falce says Lischner is not the first person to come forward with complaints about the bar.
“I have heard concerns about the bar. Residents have contacted me about the loud music, parking down here and other activities. We haven’t had anything like this ‘til now,” said Falce.
Allegheny County Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call their tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
