PITTSBURGH — The search for a missing man out of McKeesport is over. The mother of Kenneth Lennex confirmed to Channel 11 News that his body was found this morning in Elliott.
Pittsburgh Police said they found a man shot in the head in a wooded area around 9:30 a.m.
“Something told me it was my son this morning in Elliott,” Cindy Lennex said speaking exclusively to Channel 11.
She’s still processing the news that her son, 34-year-old Kenneth Lennex was found shot to death.
Just yesterday, McKeesport Police issued a missing person alert on its Facebook page saying Kenneth Lennex hadn’t been seen since Saturday and had been traveling to the Pittsburgh area.
“I’m pretty suspicious that when he left his house, he was going to do something he wasn’t supposed to do,” Cindy Lennex said.
On Friday, the Allegheny County medical examiner released information ruling Lennex’s death as a homicide. They say Lennex died on Thursday.
For Cindy Lennex, it’s another in a string of tragedies. Her daughter died of an overdose a year and a half ago and she buried her mother not long after.
“I have no children now. They’re both gone.”
Kenneth Lenning leaves behind four kids of his own. His mom remembers him as goofy and loving. She said he was no angel but didn’t deserve this.
“I really want whoever did this to my son to be found. I won’t give up with that. I’ll be on it every day,” Cindy Lennex said. “I’ll find you. You better hope the police find you before I do.”
We did reach out to Pittsburgh Police for more information but have not heard back.
