NEW CASTLE, Pa. — A man was sentenced to life in prison Monday for an April 2023 homicide in New Castle.
Leighton Jade Weaver, 20, was found guilty of shooting and killing Lance Louis, 42. Louis was found in a crashed car just before 3 a.m. on April 19.

A witness told police he was there when Weaver shot Louis in the back after the two met up outside a house on Adams Street. Louis was hurt, but drove off with a woman in the passenger seat before crashing into a utility pole.
Weaver was sentenced to life in prison for a first degree murder charge. He was also sentenced to one to two years in prison for recklessly endangering another person.
