ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man surrendered to police following a standoff with police in Robinson Township Sunday morning.
Police said John Ball, 53, fired nine shots inside his August Drive home about 9:30 a.m. A brief standoff ensued.
Robinson Township Police Chief Dale Vietmeier said, "We were there, had the SWAT team en route and within about 40 minutes later, unexpectedly, he just opened the front door with his hands raised and came out of the front door."
Police believe alcohol played a role.
Ball's wife and children were home when the incident started. They were not hurt.
