PITTSBURGH — A man used an airsoft gun to rob a restaurant in Downtown Pittsburgh, police said.
Pittsburgh police said a man walked into the Subway off of Smithfield Street just after 7 p.m. and brandished an airsoft gun, which he used to threaten employees as he robbed the store.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended on a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus.
Pittsburgh public safety officials have identified the suspected robber as Javion Perry, 20.
Perry faces multiple charges, including robbery. He’s in the Allegheny County Jail.
This is the second crime to happen at a downtown sandwich shop in just as many days. On Monday, a Jimmy John’s employee was brutally beaten while on the job at the location on Penn Avenue.
