Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2023 closures

The City of Pittsburgh offices and facilities will be closed today, Jan.16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and refuse collection will be delayed one day.

Refuse collection will proceed as follows: residents with a scheduled collection day of Monday will be serviced on Tuesday. Those with a scheduled collection day of Tuesday will be serviced on Wednesday, and so on through Saturday.

CitiParks Healthy Active Living Senior Centers and Recreation Centers will be closed today.

The after-school feeding program will not be in operation today. Normal operations will resume Tuesday.

There will be no changes to the Schenley Park Skating Rink schedule. It will operate as usual from 4 to 5:30 p.m. with an open skate.

All Allegheny County offices, including the courts, council, and the independently elected offices, will be closed today.

The Hartwood Acres Mansion will be closed, and the schedule for the county’s ski slopes, snow tubing, ice rinks, and golf courses follows, but is weather and conditions permitting.
