MCCANDLESS, Pa. — The Town of McCandless Police Department is mourning the death of K-9 officer Siraly.
Siraly died over the weekend after battling a serious health condition over the past few months that worsened late last week, police said.
Siraly’s handler, Officer Shawn Davis, was by his side at the end.
“Siraly was loyal, fierce and a great protector, especially to me. He was an all-business dog that was bred for police work,” Davis said.
The police department sent its condolences to Davis, who they said handled this “extraordinarily difficult situation with the utmost professionalism and compassion.”
