McKEESPORT, Pa. — The McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge was closed Tuesday afternoon as a precaution as crews work to control docks that have gotten loose from the marina.
Officials said the far end of the marina was being prepared to be dismantled, but some of the docks began breaking loose near the marina in McKeesport at Water Street and Fifth Avenue about 11 a.m.
"It's a combination of the weather we're getting and the Youghiogheny Dam letting water out," boater Elmer Crouch said. "It's crazy to see because in the summer people are swimming here, and now you wouldn't dare swim."
Debris and other items were floating in the water as crews worked to remove what they could.
There is no word when the bridge will reopen.
