LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. — The fallout from the varsity football team hazing allegations continues within the Mohawk Area school district.

Tonight, parents came to the scheduled school board meeting to express their disgust with how the district handled the investigation.

According to the Lawrence County district attorney, charges against the three students involved in the hazing incident could be filed later this week.

But before that happens, parents want answers.

“I want to know what the board is doing for protection of these kids,” one parent said.

Many parents are telling the board they have lost their trust.

“We all agree that public safety, our student safety is number one here. That was violated. That’s a fact.”

The Mohawk Area school district says last month, the alleged hazing took place in the high school gym and equipment room between varsity football practice sessions, where three students are accused of abusing, humiliating and assaulting five players of the varsity football team. District officials also say no adults had any involvement or knowledge of the alleged hazing.

District parents say despite that fact, they should still be held accountable.

The district attorney ays there is video of the alleged event that his office has reviewed and despite rumors, they did not find any evidence of sexual abuse.

“There were no broomsticks. There was no masturbation. There was no bodily fluids. I heard all the rumors,” said Joshua Lamancusa, Lawrence County District attorney.

Attorney Russell Lucas, the board solicitor, says they will address all athletic programs and how they are supervised.
