PITTSBURGH — A woman who had overdosed on heroin in Pittsburgh’s Morningside neighborhood Thursday afternoon was revived, after her 8-year-old daughter ran to get help.

According to a criminal complaint, the girl ran to a nearby beauty salon after 32-year-old Jamie Hudak stopped breathing and her skin turned gray.

"She's crying. She says, 'My mom, I don't want my mom to die,'" witness Dave Gerasole said.

Gerasole and an employee inside the salon went to the car, which was parked on Greenwood Street. The woman performed CPR on Hudak before police arrived.

"We started hitting her on her face... we pulled her out of the car and then Ellen gave her about three compressions and she came around, " Gerasole said.

Police said they found a needle, cotton swabs and several empty bags in the car.

Police said Hudak admitted to using heroin with a friend, Timothy Antoszewski, who was found dead from an apparent overdose inside his home on Greenwood Street shortly before Hudak overdosed.

Hudak was arrested and taken to the Allegheny County Jail. She faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
