PITTSBURGH — The Mon Wharf in downtown Pittsburgh remains closed Wednesday. Officials said water levels have reached over 19 feet and it is possible the water could still rise.

The Pittsburgh Parking Authority has not said when the Wharf would be expected to reopen.

Flooding remains a problem in several areas since persistent rain associated with what was Hurricane Sandy continues to fall.

In Westmoreland County, route 30 in Ligonier flooded overnight. Crews were also out salting the roads to help deal with icy road conditions early Wednesday.

The Bairdstown Bridge in Blairsville was closed Tuesday night because of flooding from the Conemaugh River. Water also still covered Route 982 near Route 30.

About 30 people had to be rescued from homes and roads around Ligonier and Latrobe during the worst of the storm, officials said.
