Before the chase, Pitcairn police tried to pull over Bruce Alvarado in a stolen vehicle, according to investigators. He allegedly drove up to 90 mph before crashing into a pickup truck.
A woman in the passenger seat told officers Alvarado said he would “blow a cop’s head off,” according to court documents.
Alvarado, 38, of Clairton, was charged with 15 counts — including attempted homicide, assault of a law enforcement officer and aggravated assault. He was denied bail and placed in the Westmoreland County Jail.
